Fresh Northwest Design Toasts Happy Couples with Engraved Wedding-Themed Bottles
Customized, Handcrafted Bottle Designs Make Valuable and Unique Proposals, Invitations and Keepsakes
SEATTLE, Wash. — (February 11, 2008) — Inspired by connubial bliss and wine devotion, Fresh Northwest Design (FNWD) has come up with seemingly endless ways to commemorate that special day with custom designed, hand etched and painted wine bottles.
The premier glass engraving studio in the United States, FNWD introduces a library of templates designed expressly for weddings and romance (visit http://www.freshnwdesign.com to view the entire gallery). Styles range from classic to contemporary, sentimental to whimsical, and customization is a given part of the process.
Creative and romantic uses of FNWD’s bottles include:
- Proposals – The groom-to-be can have “Will You Marry Me?” etched into a magnum of his prospective bride’s favorite wine.
- Invitations – Instead of paper and envelopes, couples can send VIP wedding invitations containing wine, with unique engraved and hand painted artwork or a picture of the couple.
- “Guestbooks” – Engraved with the invitation’s design, guests are asked to sign a large-format bottle in metallic ink, or simply engrave all the guests’ names into the bottle.
- Commemoratives – Of wedding vows, or of the couple themselves.
- Thank you gifts – For parents or members of the wedding party.
- Centerpieces – Placed upon each reception table.
- Notable milestones – Not limited to the wedding day, customized bottles can mark anniversaries, from the fifth to the 50th and beyond.
Says owner Scott Schoenen, “Our bottles are unique and high end, quite unlike anything most people have ever seen. The craftsmanship that goes into each bottle makes them works of art and people see them as keepsakes.”
Clients may choose the wine and the shape or size of bottle, from standard 750ml to the very rare “Primat” format (27 liters, the equivalent of 36 standard wine bottles). The hand etching method—as opposed to a laser process—does not affect the temperature of the wine inside.
If needed, FNWD can assist couples and their wedding planners with selecting a winery and collaborate with them to come up with a custom design, start to finish. FNWD is happy to incorporate photos or illustrations, names, dates, or a combination of elements. Although FNWD specializes in wine bottles, the artists can work on any glass or ceramic item.
Choosing a vintage that will age beautifully in the bottle is a perfect way to commemorate a union: Both improve with the passing of time!
